Wednesday and Thursday

Thursday 30th July
My tomato plants have done quite well this year. I have 2 plants with small tomatoes on (Gardener's Delight) and these BIG tomatoes (can't remember the name of the variety atm. I love the raindrops glistening on the tomato skin!

Wednesday 29th July
Advertiser day. It gets deliverd each week. The only things I read are the job adverts (sadly very few just now) and the tide times! DH reads it from cover to cover, but then he is especially interested in house prices - not sure why!

Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday

Tuesday 28th July

I took my camera with me this morning on my dog walk to the beach. I was hoping for a better sky, but it was a bit overcast when we got there. Here's my favourite beach huts again!

Monday 27th July
Here's the evidence for our wallpaper stripping this weekend! What an awful job! Hope it doesn't stay like this for too long! We are waiting on the plasterer now.

Sunday 26th July
We usually go to the American car rally on the Sunday of the seafront fair. But we decided to go and see the bus rally on the seafront today. Lots of middle aged male bus geeks/nerds!!!
Here's a few Routemasters.

Saturday 25th July

It's seafront fair weekend in Worthing! We have a fun fair on the beach and a huge market all along the prom. Maurice and I love to go down there and soak up the atmosphere, and take a few pics! (We don't go on the rides though!!!)

Thursday and friday

Thursday

Mum came over and we worked hard in the garden all afternoon! She is a real slave driver! We did a general tidy up, and the garden is looking quite good - not too much colour from flowers, but lots of foliage colour and texture. However, this agapanthus has huge flowers, and I love it! I have a couple of different smaller varieties in pots, but they don't seem to want to flower this year.

Friday

We took Merlin up to Highdown this evening. This is the best photo I took, just look at the lovely colour in the long grass. Merlin is the little black blob(!) and that's my shadow!

Wednesday 22nd July

I am progressing with my paper clutter! I bought a new shredder yesterday, but there are no spare plugs in the room I use as an office (too many computers!) so it is sitting just outside the door, with the idea that I dhred a few papers everytime I go past!

Tuesday 21st July

I have been having a bit of a spend up lately! (well I do have a new job!!) Not only have I bought all that fabric from Lewes at the weekend, but these 3 scrapbooking books, and a few new tops (my excuse for those is that I need something nice to wear to workLOL!)
I have looked at the Busy Scrapper and there are some good tips in there, and some super LOs. I have only flicked through the other two.

Monday 20th July

Having just started my new job (this is the second week) I am finding it difficult to find time to take photos on a Monday as I work all day. Once I get used to the new routine, all will be fine! So I took my cmaera with me on my dog walk at 8pm. The sky was overcast and it was abit gloomy - not my kind of light for taking photos! Anyway I turned up with these 2, which have both been tweaked in photoshop.

The overgrown house is just down the road from here. A couple of years ago, a builder bought 3 houses all in a row to knock down and build flats. They paid a really exhorbitant price for the 3 properties. The first one was converted into flats, and has only just been filled with tenants after not being able to sell any of the flats for over 1 year! The other 2 have not been touched, and there is no sign of them being worked on. I guess the builder lost a lot of money in this scheme.

The beach scene has that desolate look about it, which is just how it felt last night, cool, damp, grey, windy - dead miserable! Where has our nice summer sunshine gone?

Sunday 19th July

My friend's autistic son is 18 this week. I have spent a lovely afternoon making him a card -this is the front. It is an accordian book with 4 pages (8 sides), and it has been lovely printing out the photos she emailed and cutting and sticking!

Saturday 18th July

My purchases! I went to the 'Patchwork Dog and Basket' in Lewes for their 'birthday sale' today. WOW! What an brilliant sale! I spent far too much money!

Friday 17th July

This should have been a photo of the dentist! I spent nearly 2 hours in there this morning having a new bridge fitted. Lots of drilling and teeth pulling! But I do have 3 straight front teeth now!
I have just started an online course, 'Organise your paper clutter'. (www.simplify101.com) Here is 1 of the many piles of paper clutter that I would like to get rid off once and for all!

Thursday 16th July

This is what our beach looks like at the moment! Absolutely covered in seaweed! The moment we have some wind - the seaweed comes in and completely covers our beaches. If it gets hot now it will smell awful and be covered in flies! YUK! It certainly puts me off going in again - in fact there was nobody down there this morning at 9am, whereas there are usually a few people and dogs!

Shepherd and Dog

We went for a drive tonight (practising my advanced driving and to find out where I have to meet my examiner tomorrow) and ended up at one of our favourite little country pubs, The Shepherd and Dog at Fulking (try saying that when you've had a few!) It is nestled just behind the south downs just by Devils Dyke. There is a little stream that comes out onto the road and it is really lovely!

Tuesday 14th July

My bed time reading at the moment! (I shall be glad when my advanced driving test is over and done with! Then I can get back to 'proper' reading!)

Sunday, Monday

Sunday 13th July
I have just received this GORGEOUS circle journal back! It was an 'all my own photos' CJ over on UKScrappers. I have to say that it is the best CJ I have ever had! I love it! All I have to do now is add some journaling. I might find out some facts about the buildings and the history of the seafront to include in it. I am going to post all the pages on my other blog is you want to see it all!
This was my entry.

Monday 14th July
I nearly forgot to take a picture! I just remembered to take my camera to Crawley crop and took some pics of the minibook we were making so I could finish it at home. Here is a not very good pic of the finished item. It's lovely isn't it?

Friday, Saturday

Friday 10th July

We went to the local 'eat all you can' Chinese for DH's birthday. It was really great! From l-r, Tom (Lucy's boyfriend), Lucy, Nicholas and Maurice.

Saturday 11th July

A picture from my crop! I took a few pics of my table, and I liked this one the best! It's a LO for my 50th birthday album.

Thursday, 9 July 2009

It is DH's birthday tomorrow. I haven't had chance to make him a birthday card, and just managed to grab a bottle of whiskey for him with my shopping! So I stamped some motorbike images and chequered flag images onto some brown paper and made this tag! Hope he likes it! (I know he will like the whiskey!!!LOL)

Wednesday 8th July

I have just spent nearly all morning doing my Anglo Italian Family History Society membership stuff! It always seems to take a very long time, cos there are lots of fiddly bits! But here are the letters for new members and renewals all ready to go!

Tuesday 7th July

Just had the most terrific downpour coupled with thunder and lightening! Oh the British summer eh?

Here's the view from my computer.

Norfolk weekend

We've just spent a really idyllic weekend in Norfolk. We were based in a little cottage in the village of Martham. This first photo is of the river just down the road from where we stayed and we enjoyed a lovely circular walk down along the river and back through some fields.

On Saturday morning we went down to Horsey Gap, where you can spot seals if you are lucky! We were a bit lucky and saw about 5 popping their heads out of the water to have little look round. Here's Merlin wondering what on earth it is popping it's head up! He wanted to go in after it - yes Merlin, you would easily catch a sealLOLOLOLOL!!!

Here's the only bit of the Norfolk broads we went to! This mooring place was just next to a lovely restored windmill open by the National Trust, so we had a cup of coffee by the river, and a short walk along the bank (or staithe as they are known up in Norfolk!)

On Sunday morning we got up early and went back down to the beach to give Merlin a good run. It was deserted! Just how I was hoping the beach would be! We have shingle seaweedy beaches here, so this long sandy beach was gorgeous! Merlin absolutely loved it!

Later on we motored up to Cromer. What a lovely little seaside resort! We loved the pier, but my absolute favourite was the colourful beach huts here just along from the pier. We had to walk along a bit anyway to let Merlin off his lead. I LOVE beach huts!!!

On Monday we took Merlin for a run along the sand dunes at Great Yarmouth, had a lovely cup of coffee at a little cafe, then motored on to Southwold. WOW! I love it! Unfortunately the weather was turning bad, but here are more colourful beach huts! And Southwold pier is just lovely!

All in all a really relaxing weekend - I feel like I have been away for longer than a few days.

Thursday, 2 July 2009

Not the most flattering photo of me you'll ever see! But here I am in the sea! DS took these 2 pics. I have been in swimming twice this week, and it has been glorious! I love to go in and swim when it is high tide and flat calm like this. It was actually really warm tonight (these pics were taken at about 8.30pm)

Men can never resisit throwing stones can they? I can't see the attraction myself, but then I have the most girly throw in the world! Here's DH thowing and Merlin looking nonplussed!

And here's DS throwing a stone with DH and dog looking on.

Catching up

Wednesday 1st July

OMG July already!!!! I have just been to the hairdressers, so here's a pic takne in the mirror to show off my new hairdo! Actaully it's not a new hairdo, just some colour to hide the grey, and a trim. I do like it though!

Tuesday 30th June

Getting DS to help round the home is like getting blood from a stone! So I decided to ask him to sweep the patio today. Still need to nag him several times, but he did do it and here's the evidence! He made quite a good job of it too!

Monday 29th June

My goal today was to get my ironing done! Just about did it! I have severely cut down on my ironing lately to try and save time, but still have to do sheets and duvet covers, just because I love the feel of freshly ironed sheets!LOL
