Sunday 28th June

Such a busy day today! And I took my camera all day, so am having trouble choosing a POTD!
Finally I chose this one, because it's such a happy photo! It's DH, DS and Mum standing outside DS's church. We all went along to the service today because the church reopened after refurbishment inside. It looks gorgeous (pics on my other blog!)

Saturday 27th June

Most people participating in this challenge have been doing it since January. I only started in March, so this is my 3 month anniversary! I am pleased to say that I have not missed a photo a day yet.

Today I went up to London to my Family History Society AGM (It's the Anglo-Italian FHS). I am the membershio secretary and DS is the webmaster. We meet in the Mormon church right opposite the Science museum, but we went into the V&A for lunch, where we sat in the courtyard garden. Here's a reflection
of the building in a window.

More photos on my other blog.

Friday 26th June

I took my camera outsied to photograph my tomato plants - but came back with this! I love these yellow kniphofia flower spikes, they really glow in the sunshine! I transplanted this into a more sunny position and one where I can see it better. Well worth a photo I think!

Thursday 25th June

I have been to sewing this morning and finished off a bag I made at a workshop on Tuesday. Pretty good eh to finish it that quick! I have to say that I am quite pleased with it, and it is the first proper bag I have made!

I couldn't decide which photo to choose. so here are 3!!

Monday and Tuesday

Manic days both! I haven't been very good with my camera, especially today!
Tuesday
I have been 'supporting' MUm with her kitchen works. Choosing paint today! So here's the glass of wine I needed when I got in!!
Monday
A dahlia in Mum's garden. We shopped for wall tiles today. The kitchen units are going in, but there is a problem arrrrrghhh! Not sure I understand what it is, but DB has it sorted, just a quikc phone call to Wickes was all that was needed! Phew!

Weekend at sandown quilt show

I have just been away for a fabulous weekend, with my sewing buddies, Freda and Burnice.

Friday 19th June
Here they are checking Burn's camera just as we arrived at our cottage in Shepperton. We stayed in a fabulous olde worlde cottage, with low ceilings and sloping, creaking floors!

Saturday 20th June
We went to Sandown Quilt Show, at the racecourse. Don't you just love the anticipation as you walk in to one of these shows!

I love this quilt, fabulous colours!

There was a competition for a sea-scene, and I took loads of close ups to inspire me in my sea-scene that I have already started!

Our cottage was right by the river, and we went for a little walk along to this lock to watch the canoeists!

Sunday 21st June
Here's a pic of our cottage.

Thursday 18th June

I have had another massive tidy up fo my dining/craft room! I bought a 'clip it up' whirly thing to store my alphabet stickers, and I am embarrassed to say that I have have more or less filled it up! It is wonderful to have them all at my finger tips - I will get to use all those half finished alphabets in no time!

Wednesday 17th June

What's on my mind at the moment? My mock advanced driving test on friday morning!! I am useless at manoevures so have been practising by always reversing into my drive! Here's what it looks like from my perspective!

Tuesday lunch at the beach hut

Sorry about the quality of this photo, but I had to include one from my absolutely lunch time at my friend Pam's beach hut! It was absolutely glorious sitting there having lunch with Pam and Lorraine. The sun was quite fierce, and I am a bit overdone despite lashings of suntan lotion!

Monday 15th June

I absolutely LOVE this plant! It's a sempervivum which I have a shallow pot just outside the back door. I love these little flowers it has, and the web effect of the little rosettes. It is called arachnodium because it looks like spiders webs!

Sunday 14th June

Despite taking my camera with me on a dog walk this morning and to a 'works-do' this afternoon, I failed to take 1 single photo! So I took this of my hot chocolate - which I have eveyr night to take to bed with me and read!

White Friday

This picture of my bunch of chrysanthemums taken with backlight (the window), and then levels tweaked in PS. I love the ethereal effect!

Blue Thursday

I tried blue skies! and blue pots in my garden, but this one of the flower won as photo of my day!

Colour week

I have been inspired by Shimelle's colour project on her website: www.shimelle.com. Here's the first 3 days:

Monday Green
LOL these little cup things are so funky! They are egg poachers, and I bought them from Waitrose just the other week. I haven't tried them out yet though! That's my basil plant in the background.

Tuesday Red
My red ferrari hat, bought at Goodwood festival of Speed a few years ago. I love that embroidery of the ferrari racing car on the front!

Wednesday Black/Grey
Well, it just had to be my Black Dog didn't it?

Sunday 7 June 2009

The weekend

Sunday evening walk down by the beach over on the other side of Worthing (east), where all the fishing boats are gave me some good photo opportunities - including this one of floats all stacked up in a little fishing boat.

Saturday was Brighton crop day! Here's my 'Chinese whispers' LO!! I matted the photos and did the title. Then it was handed round and everyone added a little something. Great fun! It's not turned out too bad!

Untidy desk!

Why can't I keep my scrapbooking stuff neat and tidy?? This is how my desk/dining room table looks today! I am nearly finished making a minibook for a swap (the Red,black and white liitle book in the centre of the picture), but I seem to have to get everything out and there it stays until I do a massive tidy up! I can NEVER find my scissors or ruler!

Thursday 4 June 2009

Thursday 4th June

This is what is on my table in the conservatory right now! I have just got back from a 2.5 hour driving lesson for my Advanced Driving. (I am knackered!! It is really hard to concentrate for that long) On top of the pile is my Advanced Driving book 'How to be a better driver', which I still need to study more! Underneath are magazines (how I LOVE magazines!!!) on Family History and Scrapbooking.

Wednesday 3 June 2009

Wednesday 3rd June

I had a big sort out of my clothes this morning! Here's the half-way stage - you know where it all looks a lot more untidy than it did when you began! I sorted out all my summer clothes, moved drawers around so I can get to them easier. Then I made a pile for the charity shop! And I actually delivered them today, so I feel quite virtuous!!!

Tuesday 2 June 2009

Alliums

I have been practising with my macro lens in the garden again! This shot was taken at f7.1 which makes it much easier to focus! The depth of focus is much bigger. I am pleased with this one, the allium ball of flowers really shines in front of the pink flowers!

Monday 1st June

What a glorious day! Just right for dipping your toes into the sea!

Sunday 31st May

We went for a lovely drive last night and stopped at this gorgeous little country church that is now disused. It is between Ashington and thakeham, and is in the tiny hamlet of Warminghurst. We went on to have a drink at the Bridge pub in Amberley. What a gorgeous end to a perfect day!

Saturday 30th May

Here is the quilt I am making with those fabrics I bought on Wednesday. I spent the day at a sewing class. It would be the loveliest hottest day yet wouldn't it! But I had a great day.
Each star on this quilt is twice as big as the one before it. One the 2 largest stars, the points are log cabins. Today we managed to cut out stars 1,2 and make a start on the log cabins for star 3.

Friday 29th May

Mum came over and we did loads of gardneing! We cleared this corner. (The before picture was not taken today), but the after one was!

Thursday 28th May

Really busy day today. And it was my last day as a cleaner at work! YAY! So here's the sun setting on that job, and hopefully rising again soon on a new challenge.
