I love finishing off projects! I set myself a goal to finish at least 2 sewing projects this month, and here they are:
I wanted to have a go at cathedral window patchwork, and found a pattern at www.sleepingbear.co.uk to practise with. I was so pleased with how they turned out that I made this cushion:
The ‘insides’ of the window are made with scraps left from Mum’s quilt, and I was so glad I found the green spotty fabric for the border. Not sure where it came from, but it looks fab on my sofa!
How about this seascape? I started this a few years ago with some charm squares I bought from eBay. I added in some ideas I had from a quilt show at Sandown., and just generally added bits as I went along. No pattern! I think it looks a bit like snakes and ladders! And it is my first free machine quilting on a project. I’ve decide to call it finished now and may hang it on the wall in my downstairs toilet!
Oh what a lovely feeling to have these finished! Off to look for some more UFOs!!

That cushion is lovely..and the second project will be great as a wall-hanging! Good going!

I am intrigued by those little windows in your cushion - the glimpses of colour are delightful. And there'd be lots of look at and hold the gaze if your quilt makes it onto a wall ...
Wow! That cushion is beautiful.
