I have finished my Quilt! It has taken me 18 months!!! (Lots of other samller projects in between though). I have made it a priority for the last couple of months, and managed to sew the binding on yesterday. That alone took 4 hours! I wonder how many hours work has gone into it? It is 90% hand sewn. The only bits machined are the borders!
I made the bed this morning and had a little photo shoot! I am really pleased with it, dead proud of my achievement!
The border is made with this gorgeous cream fabric with white printed butterflies. I decided to make a butterfly template and use it for the quilting.
The points of the 2 larger stars are done with log cabin.
Here’s a close up of the central star. The gorgeous salmon flower fabric is my ‘signature’ fabric, and makes the largest star points.
And finally, here’s my Christmas table runner and 2 of the mats. This is my first go at machine patchwork and quilting! Love those Basic Grey fabrics from Moda!

OMG Linda that is amazing! What a labour of love! And well done to finish it. I started a simple quilt 20 years ago and it is still just a heap of squares!

Linda, your quilt is absolutely stunning, what a treasure! I love the Christmas projects too. You must feel so proud!
Hi Linda - thanks for your comments on my blog. I did like Highcliff - we are keen to go back in the summer. Never been to Lulworth Cove - so we must add that to the list of places to visit. By the way - I have got to grips with Blurb now and am making a Blurb book of my '52 walks' - so thanks for the suggestion. It going to have over 100 pages and is the large square one - so I think it will cost me over £100 - but I can't wait till the end of the year to finish my walks and order the book!
Your quilting is beautiful Linda - what a great accomplishment to get this finished. Love the Christmas project too.
