What’s on your Worktop Wednesday?

craft 050

Here’s my workspace dining room table today.  The LO is my LOAD for today.  I found this old picture of Maurice’s brothers and families c 1982 and just had to scrap it!  It is scraplifted from one of my favourite scrappy books, The Busy Scrapbooker by Courtney Walsh.  I have already used this sketch and will use it again.  The book is actually open at the page on top of a RUB, which is full of scraps!  I also have drawers full of scraps, both of patterned paper and cardstock!  What to do with it all?  I am so tempted to throw it all away now and start all over again.  I was determined to finish up all my old kits, but although I still have 20 or so sheets of pp left, I can never find the right one for my photos.  I have started to cut out shapes with my cricut (flowers on this page for example), and may go through the scraps and toss anything smaller than say 3” x3”.  What have you done with your scraps?

The stickers are all ‘family’ quotes that I was hunting through for embellishment. I have a similar problem with stickers, loads of half used pages (especially alphabets), but they don’t go with the papers or I haven’t got the right letters! That’s where the cricut machine comes in to it’s own – I can cut as many letter ‘e’ as I want!  I just need some more cartridges so I have a bit more choice as to font and shapes.

Maybe it’s time to be really ruthless!

I am not the best person to ask because I keep anything big enough to punch a Martha Stewart butterfly out of!
Thanks for your kind comments on my blog:) The photo was taken on the beach at Teignmouth.

Whenever your blog pops up on my googlereader it smile because I so love the photo you have on your blog header. Fabulous layout you have made and my dining room is my scrap room too but as we eat our meals there I have to clear it up every time I use it.

Great photo of your table. I, too, like that I can cut all the letters I need with my Cricut and in any color that I have paper!

Love your layout, I'm a big fan of the 4 square grid. I say if you feel like purging old stuff, go for it! At least put it all in a box, you don't necessarily have to throw it out, but just removing it from the more inspiring stash always makes me happy.

Love your LO :) I tend to keep all my scraps, even thin strips of card as I use them for journalling. I buy patterned paper, and then keep it from years, I've only just used a piece of paper from a kit from 2007, as it worked well with my photos! So I wouldn't throw anything away! (But then I'm a hoarder in general!) Loving the new look blog too, if I've not already said :)

Great layout Linda and love your scrappy space aka dining room table. As you know, I can totally relate to the 'needing to purge' situation. I too have way too many papers that I know I am just not going to use, and let's not even talk about stickers.

Very interesting blog post today! I like your layout. Isn't it fun to find old photos of family! I decided that I am not keeping anything smaller then 6x6" or 3x12" UNLESS it is solid card stock that I use for mats. Not much help here! Thanks for sharing. Vickie #46

My scraps are only kept if a bit biger than your criteria. They are crammed into 2 RUBS - lidless and the plain stock is 'organised'in colours - I made dividers so it is easier..the printed are just in a box, but again, upright, They feature on my desk almost every week - I wouldn't use any at all if they weren't at hand, and every now and then, I go mad and bin the lot. They're no good to any one but me..and I did start to cut out shapes..but then I needed a box to hold them too.....blurgh.
YOur desk loks great - I love the LO.

What a fab LO Linda, I think I might need to get that book! I tend to hang onto my scraps, you never know when you can use them on a card (or in the butterfly punch as Angelfish mentioned!)
